Obviously the landscape paintings of Bruce Ricker are deeply inspired by Eyvind Earle, the grandmaster of magical landscapes. Yet Ricker found a distinctive style and when he once told Eyvind Earle “I hope you don’t mind that I’m emulating your style”, Earle replied that he had learned everything he knew from other artists as well. Although Ricker’s dream of finding a mentor in Earle was disappointed.
