Rajni Perera was born in Sri Lanka and is now based in Toronto.
She paints a vibrant sci-fi universe ruled by hybrid deities, demons and powerful black heroines. They join the fight to reclaim their space in popular visual tropes, against antiquated power structures suppressing the untamed female sexuality. Other futures beg to unravel; body positive, inclusive and authentic.
