Justine Kurland‘s pictures are a glimpse into a better world. An idealistic utopian fantasy where men (actually mostly women) live in harmony with nature. I’ve used a picture of her before to illustrate a post about cyber culture by Terence McKenna. I really wanna stress the notion, that to me these pictures present a futuristic vision rather than a look back at our savage ancestors.
There’s an odd movie making use of this scenario: La belle verte. It shows a highly developed society that masters interstellar travel and telepathy but thrives in a world without any visible technology.
An interview with Kurland from 2010.
