Synchrodogs is the pseudonym of the two Ukrainian creatives Roman Noven and Tania Shcheglova, who have been working together since 2008.

I’m aware of their work for over a decade and their latest exploration into generative AI seems like a natural evolution of their practice. The resulting series Overture is based on their vast photographic archive creating a peculiar fusion of natural and artificial, real and surreal.

It is no coincidence that no AI images have been featured on DOP so far. The flood of dazzling images created with these new tools is overwhelming and I find it hard to separate the wheat from the chaff.
