Often summarized as graphic artist, Eric Gill was a sculptor, typeface designer, stonecutter and printmaker. He is associated with the British Arts and Crafts movement.
I only knew of him as a typographer and I was more than surprised when I discovered his drawings of lovers. And even more so because of the odd pairing with Christian imagery. I don’t know if he had sex with his dog or kids like some biographers claim, but I like his stroke.
