In 1993 the brothers Robyn and Rand Miller created MYST — a video game unlike any other before. It’s a pioneer work in virtual reality I would say. What they wanted to create was a digital world that really sucks you in. It was not about the gameplay and quick entertainment.
Of course playing Pacman as a child is also teaching you something but I’m happy that my first game experience was of another kind: Exploring the Unknown instead of running after coins in an inescapable labyrinth.
