Henri Rousseau
Dreams of the jungle

March 29 2015

Today I woke up with a longing for color and the jungle. So I knew it’s time for Henri Rousseau. His jungle scenes are literally a dream because Rousseau never left France or saw a jungle. His style of painting is very close to how my mother used to paint, maybe that’s why I feel especially at home in his forests.

The Dream, the first picture of my selection is probably his most iconic picture and also his last one. The Snake Charmer, the second one is my personal favorite.
